Next to nature, art is the second major feature of the new BLUE-art Roggegratbad. The “public areas” are primarily designed around the work of two artists: the painter Brigitte Buck Litscher, who passed away in 2023, and the ironworker Heiko Schütz from Niederönz. Both artists have works from all their important creative periods on show in the building, with each room designed around the respective objects in terms of furnishings and colour palette. In addition to these two artists, pieces by other artists and objects by regional artisans can be explored and purchased.
Your visit will be like staying in a living museum set in the middle of unspoilt nature. The art here is not celebrated in a stuffy, elitist manner – it is to be touched and fully experienced in an immersive way. BLUE-art Roggegratbad is designed to be a symbiosis between art and nature, in which we humans can only marvel at what works of art nature reveals to us every day and how people and artists absorb these miracles and try to translate and interpret them in their own language.
